This is pry a ? that has been beat to death but i'm not able to find any info on it.... just wanting to know how or if i can get the black smoke to come rollin outta my 99, 24 valve without having to by alot of upgrades?

 

Without upgrades, you won't get much at all. The guys that can really roll the coal are the 12 valve guys. Change out the fuel plate and........... BAM!..........coal factory baby.

Get the SMARTY programmer or bigger injectors......that's about your best bet on that truck to get the smoke.

Don't forget though, smoke = EGT's.

 

As Mr. Along mentioned..... more fuel for sure and in my case..... the Smarty worked wonders. Not only for power but, bellowing black smoke on demand ! I love it. I had a RX-8 giving me some crap on the road the other day so, I passed him and let him have it. You couldn't even see his car in my rear view it was so thick !

stack that with a edge comp and you'll be blowing some serious smoke.

 

Yep def some serious smoke but like cumminalong said lotsa smoke means higher egt's which if not looked after can cause serious issues. Also when running a programmer dunno what tranny u have but be careful i think it's 100 lbft of torque? not sure on that but anything more than that you can start to slip the tranny which causes failure. But as long as ur careful you won't have any problems at all. Get teh diesel death rollin brotha. and make some videos of it

you are right. . .there are some 12 valve guys in my area that can lay down a cloud thick enough to gag a maggot.

 

ok i bought some 110 hp stage 3 vaporizor injectors, and am gettin ready to order the smarty and comp.... now what gauges would u suggest having with these mods.

 

boost, EGT, trans temp, you'll also need a bigger turboto coolall that. your EGT's are gunna be way high if your not carefull.
