Trailer Brake Controller
one more thing to add.. i have been going down enough of a grade where my mechanical controller would lock up the trailer brakes yet my vehicle brakes were barely engaged.. that wasnt a great feeling... i think the solid state controllerswon't do that
Also watch out when wiring the brake controller to the harness on the truck. I don't know if the colors match up on the dodge's, but I tried to install one in a chevy work truckand learned the hard way that matching colors fries the controller. Ended up the blue wire was the only one that matched up. The rest had to be switched around. The directions with the controller and the harness should each have a wiring diagram to go by. Just something to keep in mind.

I just picked up a dual axle triler that was used. I checked all the wires on the trailer leading to the brakes and they are fine. My question is do you need the contoller to check to see if you are getting voltage to the trailer?
