Dammit... got a speeding ticket.
I haven't had this truck for a week yet and I already got myself a speeding ticket. I was clocked doing 86 in a 55 on the interstate. Keep in mind that the traffic, which was heavy, was going about 75 and I was doing about 75 for almost the entire trip. I'm not exaggerating here, but not a single car was going under 70. Anyway, I'm in the left lane lane when I notice a car closing in real quick behind me. To be nice, I try and move over to the right lane so he could pass. I look over my right shoulder to see a car there shadowing me. I wanted in front of the car and not behind him because I didn't want to tail him and get rocks all over my new truck. No problem, I thought... this is a chance to test out the turbo on this truck. I go from 75 to 85 with absolutely no issues and merge over only to see a motorcycle cop with his gun pointed directly at me.
The cop clocks me in the few seconds of my one hour drive where I had excessive speed -- go figure. This is my first speeding ticket since 1994 and is a $160 fine, 6 points off my license, and mandatory court. Goddamn it.

Did you ask the cop for a point free ticket? A lot of times they'll write up the ticket but leave the points off for you if your nice to them. Either way, explain it to the judge and hopefully everything will pan out for you. You're definately out the $160.00, but if your lucky your insurance won't go up as well.

maybe this will make you fell a little better? probably not but 31 over will net you a $500- fine here in OR. Never heard of points being assigned on a ticket. thought dmv did that once it was sent to them with a guilty verdict.

I just got popped doing 76 in a 65 2 weeks ago compliments of photo radar...a real cop wouldnt have givin me a ticket, and to make it worse I was being passed by poeple going alot faster!...oh well...got to love photo radar.[:@]

That sucks dude. Surprisingly, for all the stupid stuff I've done, I've never been pulled over. I've gotten the lights flashed at me as a warning, but never got followed. Although one time I outran one on the interstate (he got caught in traffic and pulled someone else over [I guess he didn't want to waste the gas]) Cops in my area don't seem to be much of an *******.

This will work for you I hope, it does work here in Utah. Make a plea for abeyance, if you have a clean driving record and make a plea they will charge you the fine but iti is like you never got the ticket. There are terms such as... no more tickets for 3months or you will get the original ticket plus the new ticket... I have had to do this 1 time and it worked like a charm.

i've got one in my truck, it's saved me a few times.
to bad it can't tell me when a cop is near [>:]
3 cars ahead of me were doing like 15 in a 35 in a 2 lane road.. no passing zone.. we'll i have a bit of road rage and decided to pass all 3 at once, which i did successfully. but figures a cop is sitting right there as i pull infront of the 3 cars. cop was nice and only gave me a ticket for reckless driving i beleive... don't remember exactly. $114, and 3 points on my license [&o]
