Default First mod?

I'm going to start modding my '05 3500 dually in the next month or so and I know I want straight pipes, and bigger injectors, what I don't know is what are the best injectors for the lowest price?
Also, what other mods should I do, I'll chip the truck later, because I want to get the truck set before I start doing electronics to it.

First things first.......

Gauges brother, gauges!

Get some gauges and go from there.

After that, open up that exhaust and intake to make sure that puppy breathes easy.

Then, before you start making ignorant power, get a new TC and maybe a new valve body.

Once you have those in, you'll have enough support to "start" dropping other mods.

Build th support platform first.

Gauges should be the first consideration before anything else.
With the gauges installed, you can tell what is working and spot any potential problems before they become major ones.
Personally, after the gauges went on mine, I changed the air filter to a Amsoil.
I noticed the EGT s were about 50* cooler after this change.
The important gauges are EGT, fuel pressure and 60# boost.
If you have an auto, tranny temp also.

I'm kinda doing things bass-ackwards.
I started with the K&N, then the Aero, the Mag-tec pans, the FASS, and NOW I'm starting to think about gauges. I think I'm just going to go with the fuel pressure, egt, and boost gauges. I'm looking at those Isopro ( sp ) gauges. For the whole she-bang it'll be a little over 300 bucks. Sound good?

I'd LOOOOVE to get a set up like Demons ( Cobolts ), however I don't have that kinda cash lying around like he does.

I'm lookin at EGT,Boost,Fuel Pressure and Tranny Temp gauges for the most part. Wish they'd make a 4 gauge holder. All I find are either single, dual or triple

they do make one... IIRC it goes above the mirror behind the lie-o-meter. I dont remember who made it but you might try autometer and look under the dodge 1500 gauge pod sections. that's where I found my dash mount for my 3 gauges...

I also agree on the tranny mods & gauges... assuming it's an auto. here's what i'd recommend for performanc mods...
ATS intake $325~350
AFE stage 2 intake with the PG7 filter $430
aero 4040 in place of the cat with a 24~30" magnaflow where the stock muffler used to be. still straight thru but with no low end loss.
40~60 hp injectors $900~1100
bigger turbo (your choice) $1400 & up

then when your ready to slap some electronics on it... a TST PowerMax CR $900

this will set you up with a good performing truck that wont break your wallet at the pumps. a straight thru exhaust w/o backpressure will perform really really well but you'll loose too much low end torque IMO and suffer in mileage. been there, fixed that...

Alright, I do have an auto, so the tranny temp is a must, as you all say.
My truck has the handle/pull-your-fat-***-up-holder thing where I've seen all the other gauges, what do I do about that? Do the gauges just mount over that? All the gauges I've seen look like they took out the handle?

ALSO,
I'm looking at the Aero 4040, and it says it comes in 4", the piping from my turbo back is a 5", can I get the Aero in a 5"? Because I wanted 5" piping with a 6" tip for my exhaust.
