Default Can you say lawsuit?

I just saw the commercial for the new Ford last night for the first time. The one with the step ladder in the tailgate. It instantly makes you think. MMMMM wonder how long it'll take before someone breaks a leg on that invention or they have to recall that item also. He He He

I can see someone falling off that thing, hitting their chin on the tail gate and putting their grill through their tounge. . .or worse having that handle thing going through their head. . .good idea. . .but does look a bit dangerous.

I agree !!!

It's a shame when someone DOES come up with an idea that would probably be very helpfull to the average Joe and gets kicked to the curb for fear of a lawsuit. It makes you wonder how many other great ideas have been kicked to the curb for just such a reason.

Regarding this ladder thing, I actually applaud Ford for having the balz to take a stand and put it out there.

It is a great idea and I would not mind having that on my truck, they should list it as a option with a waiver to be signed before allowing it to leave the lot.

Yep, I agree...but there should be some kinda test instead of a waiver for a tailgate stepladder...with questions like "How much does a 5lb brick of lead weigh?"
Just test their common sense, ya know...

Cool idea as an option though..

Makes sense, perhaps both, then again no body said you have to be smart to spend money.

it's hard enough to get a warranty honored, probably gonna be even harder to make a claim like that.

I always thought it was a very cool innovation. Especially if the truck is lifted. Triton boats have done kinda the same thing with a little ladder that pulls out the back of the boat to climb back in out of the water easier.

You're right though.... there's always at least one out there though that will make a stink.

The first thing I thought of when I saw that commercial was, "no wonder they can't build a good truck when they waste their time with crap like that!". But the flame thrower is cool.
