If your going to be bombing your truck you want the one in the manifold, or at least thats what the guy at the dyno told me (he was very specific to mention that I need to move mine to the manifold). I have mine after the turbo right now.
I actually welded a bung onto the down pipe. I have a really long thermocouple for some reason (maybe because it was originaly for a semi if I just tapped a hole, it would hit the other side of the pipe)
I cut a hole in the firewall and used a pass through connector. I'm slowly working all the gauges and the edge thru on of these connectors. Should make for a nice clean install.
If your using a mechanical fuel and boost gauge, you'll have to drill holes for the lines. With the egt, trans temp, ect you put the wires into the terminals on one of the connectors. On the other connector you match up your in cab wiring to the same pins on the other connector so that the trans temp wires match up with the trans temp gauge wires.
