Thank God for honest people! So like I said in my other thread, I found an 06 ram qc 2500 4x4..bla bla. I ran carfax on it and it was clean and even gave the remaining warranty on it (it only has around 16700 miles). The guy calls me today and tells me that it was taken to the local dodge dealer to get the oil changed and they were told the whole truck was restricted (warranty) but they couldnt tell him why. I took the vin and called chrysler and it was confirmed that warranty on the WHOLE truck was VOIDED! She then read me the general managers notes on why, I will list them, yes it takes alist.
- ECM was erased or something to the effect of a programmer
- Back tires were bald while fronts were like new
- Little to no oil in the crankcase
- Engine fluid coming out of exhaust
- Aftermarket exhaust
- Mud in the airbox
- Something to effect of the truck was extremely dirty to the point it bothered the manager
I had a guy on another forum get me a build sheet on the truck just to see what the options are and now I see on there that the warranty was fully restricted. PHEW! that would have been very bad. The guy was really nice and I feel bad for him but better him than me. He said the truck looks great and runs just as good, sounds completely normal. I am going to look at new 07's tomorrow after work.

 

sounds like someone had a lot of fun with their truck without doing maintance or having any respect for it....

 

I dont know how anyone could possibly "have fun" and destroy a vehicle to the point of almost worthless at the same time.[:'(]

If its at a dealership they should be able to offer a warranty. They HAVE to go through and fix everything and make it work again before selling it. I think if you can get it at a GOOD price and they will offer a warranty it may be worth it. I mean it would have to be an awesome deal.

 

If you want a 5.9 ho you had better hurry and get one.

 

He said he would throw in a 5 year 100k miles warranty at no additional cost. I am really not comfortable driving around in a truck that was beat to death, red flagged and fixed enough to sell again. What warranty company in their right mind would warranty a truck that has that history? No thanks, first claim and they decide that they dont want to fix it and I am screwed.
