there shouldnt be a speed limit on the regen. . .as long as you are running within the engines power band(above 1600rpm) it should run the regen.

Be thankful you don't have the new Ford, that thing will light off while sitting in a parking lot. I'm not referring to the flame thrower model either. When that thing wants a regen, it will raise the idle and do it's thing. The only problem there is it will melt or burn anything within 3 feet of the exhausttip while doing so. That is why they have that goofy looking exhaust tip, they are trying to induce some cool air into the exhaust so that it won't burn up the next car in the parking lot.

My owner manual says not to park on dry grass, leaves, or anything flammable.

If your running in the power band, you shouldn't have to do a "manual" regen. The temps should be hot enough to burn off the soot. If that isn't enough, you can either load it down with a trailer, or run down a gear. Other than that it will build up soot and require a regen.

Sorry to hear about your problems with the new ride.Just to kinda help out, RUN that truck like your mad at it and it will probably serve you better. These things werent made to lug around town at low rpm's. Keep it wound up and drive the crap out of it!!! My 04 has a 100k on it and believe me, it hasnt had many easy days. You gotta remember you have a 100k warranty to play with. USE IT!! and enjoy.
