Ok... this sucks first off, Triton!
I feel for ya, sir.
And secondly... how do I go about finding out how far I can bore an engine out to, and anyone have an approx. on how much it'd cost?
And, I'm assuming this allows for more air... or what? I know you get more power... but how?
I'm retarded... sorry.
Well... I'm not... just with internal engine work, I am.
I feel for ya, sir.

hence forth, you open the cyl's up (over bore stock spec), this allows for more air/ fuel to mix at one time increasing your HP and Torque.
the last engineI had (not ctd) was bored from 87mm to 90.5 mm pistons.it went from a 1600cc (1.6L) to a 2007cc(2.0L). needed a bigger carb set up, just to get enough intake so it didnt choke. at the same time, the crank was over stroked.
one of these guys posted the CID (cubic inch displacement ) formula.
basically, if the engine has a larger displacement (bored cyl's), then that = mo energy to the rear!
depending on the build, it can increase horse more than torque, or vise versa.

So wait... they bored horses??
That's not right dude....
And ya, that cubic inch formula.... meant nothing to me... sorry.. it looked good though! *e-high five to whoever posted that*
I have no idea how big my motor is... I think it's like 287ci... or something.. I'd like to get into the 5L range though...
That's my goal...
Is it usually costly??
That's not right dude....

look under your hood for the neat little sticker. it will tell ya your engine size. can be next to the radiator or on the hood itself. sometimes with the belt / pulley diagram.
costly? depends on how you do the build.
my new 2.3l I am gonna build will run $1000. thats for an old air cooled VW too!
you drive a Dak. ok I am fine wid dat. lets see what ya got in there right now!
