Default What should I do?

I just got back from a 980 mile round trip to get my new truck and I love it (pics will come after its clean tomorrow). Whoever owned it before me changed up the exhaust a bit, the cat is gone and there is a smaller muffler in place of the stock one and there is a new tip welded on over the stock tailpipe. I got 22mpg (hand calc) on the way there in the old truck and although I havent figured it out yet I know the new truck is far less. While I understand that the truck only having 5500 miles on it its still got a lot of breaking in to do but I also think it has to do with the loss of some of the low end torque due to the exhaust mods. I am concernd about warranty issues of course so ideally I would love an unmolested turbo back set up. Other than that I would like to intstall a new cat and just delete the muffler in hopes to bring the torque back. It sounds really good and oddly isnt too loud and there is no annoyance what so ever in the cab at any speed. Thoughts? I will take pics of the exhaust set up tomorrow as well.

I am not sure what that is? I talked to a nice guy at a local dealership in the service dept, not a manager or anything but I have talked to him 3 times asking to run vins for me on my prospects. He seemed really cool so I may call him monday to sort of feel him out on the warranty thing. If that goes well I will ask about other performance mods.

I wouldn't sweat the warranty. Thats how you bought it from the dealer so thats how the dealer has to warranty it. Right?

I think I may just add an aero 4040xl where the cat used to be and leave the muffler that is on there. When I post the pics of it hopefully someone will know what brand it is.

can you get a pic of the smaller muffler so we can ID it? I think your adding a 4040xl is a great idea, however i'd go with the non-resonated version 4040. I had dropped some mpg when the cat went missing & the magnaflow was installed, it came back with the installation of the aero 4040 where the cat was. I can almost guarantee you will be happy with it in that spot. Does it still have the stock intake filter setup? also I havent been able to follow all the treads, what did you get?

so you think the non-resonated version? Thinking the resonated would be too quiet? I will have pics by tonight of the whole truck. I am updating my sig to show my truck info.

personally yeah, I really like the way mine sounds & performs, although the aero addition really didnt do much for the exhaust tone as I already had the 30" magnaflow in the rear.

Here is a pic of the muffler, there are no markings on it that I can see and you can see where the pipe was added when the cat was removed.
