Anyone ever replace their transducer and sensor solenoid?
I have a 2004 dodge ram 2500 CTD 4X4. I took it in to garage today because my tranny kinda slips and acts funny. They said there were no codes on the reader but that I need a new transducer and sensor solenoid for my transmission. Has any1 ever heard of these or got them replaced? will it be easy to do myslef with or without a chiltons manual. I was thinking of dropping pan and adjusting bands as well. Is band adjustment easy? Would the sensor solenod and transducer be inside the pan or on outside of tranny somewhere? Any nfo would be appreciated. Garage wants about $1000 parts and labor to do all that and a tranny flush.

thats what STEALERSHIP told me. transducer and sensor solenoid.
AllI could find on internet is words like transducer and governor pressure solenoid. What does my dealer mean? They wont say 4 sure. It must be something thats easy to change when pan is off. Hopefully these 2 things are easy to change because i might attempt it myself.

both of them are in the pan on the valve body, not to tough to replace. i did time as an r&r guy at a trans shop for a coule of years.
dodge had a lot of problems with those 2 solenoids on the smaller trucks, durangos and dakotas didnt see too much trouble in the
full size trucks. i can send u a picture of the valve body and point out the sensors and solenoids. there are 3 of them 2 normally get
replaced as a pair

thanks. those 2 pics would be mint. A local tranny shop is going to charge me no more than $500 for a tranny flush, filter change, band adjustment , scan for codes and to replace the 2 sensors. What do u think about that? as long as there is no wear or lotsa filings. if there is filings than it is clutch pack time.

$500.00 is a fair price, the sensors by themselves are $113.00 and $68.00..labor to install them was about $175.00 the easy way to check what is
in the pan is with a magnet if not much other than fuzz looking metal on the magnet everything is probably fine.
