I don't know if those pics helped or hurt me. On the one hand, it does seem to take up some of your line of sight, but on the other hand........they look frickin' sweet. And I think it would be a lot easier to keep an eye on the gauges without totally taking your eyes off the road.

I DON"T KNOW.............................................. ..

Yeah the only downside to having gauges on the A-pillar is that they create even more of a blind spot.
I'm thinking about getting the windshield pod with trans temp, rail pressure, and oil temp.

Neither do I brotha. I'm just gonna wing it and hope for the best. It took me a minute to get used to my Garmin, but now I am and it's no problem at all. I fugure the same will happen with these .... I hope.

I think that 3rd down picis a pretty good idea of what I'm looking at since I have the tweeter and all. Same color interior too. I think I can live with that.

Does anyone have any pics of where to drill for the probe POST turbo?

Any tips?

Thanks !!

I just marked the down pipe where I thought it should go with a sharpie. I put it on top where it's easy to get to and has plenty of room for the probe itself. Imarked it about 1" after the turbo. Then I took out the down pipe and put it in the vise and drilled and tapped it on the bench.
Just be carefull not to damage the two little pins that align the down pipe to the back of the turbo when you reinstall the down pipe.
The whole thing took about an hour.

Can you post pictures of your guages, especially the wiring and senders they come with? I think my choice of guages will come down to the quality of the harnesses and accessories they come with more than the guage itself.

You removed the downpipe? Isn't it welded in place? Gotta pic?

The quality looks pretty good to me anyway. I'm not sure yet where the boostline goes. I'm still waiting for some sort of "boost bolt? but i don't know where it goes in the engine.

The fuel pressure gauge is electronic. Do you think i can just mount the probe on top of where my filter used to go? Would it work OK even though there isn't a filter in there? My FASS has a port that I can screw it into, but the wires are going to be too short. Can I extend them without screwing something up? Like, is the gauge calibrated with a certain length line similar to the pyro?

Where you you guy's think I shoud mount it?

Here's my fuel filter top. You can see the 1/4" or whatever ports right on top. Looks pretty simple to me. Would running the probe back to the FASS be more accurate, or wouldn't it matter?

Thanks !!

You should be find mounting the sending unit in the fuel filter housing. Remeber, the closer to the vp44 the better

Mayfair, see where my pryo is mounted, that piece will unbolt from the turbo and the down pipe.

Didn't you weld in a piece before screwing in the pyro? I don't know how to weld, could I just drill and tap it without the spacer?

Thanks for the tip about the closer to the VP-44 the better. I didn't know that. Hopefully the sensor is the same thread size as one of those bolts on top of the fuel filter. That would make the job a heck of a lot easier.

New question ....

Where should I get the power for my gauges? It looks like I need a power for a light, and a switched power for the gauge itself. Can I just get both from the power going up to my compass / temp and crap up on the roof console? The light dims so I can get my light power from that wire, and it goes on and off with the key soI guess that is a seperate wire so I can get my gauge power from that wire right?

Also, one of the gauges I think it's the fuel pressure gauge says it needs an "engine" ground and they show a ground comming right off of the battery. the other two just say a "good ground". Couldn't I just also use the ground going up there as well? I haven't pulled the pillar off so I don't know how many wires are there, but it SOUNDS pretty simple if I hook all of the wires up there doesn't it?

Whadda ya think?

Mayfair, are you sure the guage needs an "engine" ground or the sending unit needs the "engine" ground? Cause if it's the sending unit, it will already be grounded to the engine when you attach it to the filter housing. Hope this helps.
