savage.basher I feel ya. I started my first job the day after I got out of 8th grade. I was almost 15 I believe. I am 25 now, I have not gone longer than a week since 15 w/o a job. I am busting my **** to get through school now. I just turned 25 and decided to have a quarter life crises. I bought a vintage motorcycle to restore. I need to figure out what else I can do for it. Any suggestions from you old timers?

I made that comment, but I wasn't thinking about the mom/dad thing, although that puts a burr in my saddle too. I was thinking more along the lines of when I was 21 my great new vehicle was $15K not $50K, and I don't believe average salaries have gone up quite as fast. Hell I am happy young people are doing well and earning themselves a good living. Maybe just a little jealous too.
BTW, that stamina thing...... A wise older guy once told me when I was 18. "What I used to do all night long, now takes me all night to do". But hey that was before viagra.

It reminds me of a commercial I saw where the guy says, "I can afford all of this because I'm in debt up to my ears."

yah savage in november i am getting my licence.
one question do you guys in the states have an "L" "N" licence thing. hard to explain but like were you pass a writen test when you turn 16 then you get your L. the L means you can only drive if there is someone over 25 in the car. when you turn 17 you take the actual driving test if you pass you get your N. the N means you can drive by your self but you can only carry onenonfamily passenger, and as many family members as you want. when you turn 18 you take another driving test which if you pass you can lose your N.
just wondering if you guys have the same procedure?

In MN, at 15 you go through a driver's training class and when you pass that, you get your learners permit. You can drive with someone over 18 in the car. Not sure about restrictions, if any. After you pass your test, you have to have 6 hours of behind the wheel training and have your permit for at least 6 months before you can take your drivers test (you also have to be 16 before taking the drivers test) and if you pass, you are free to roam about the roads.

I hate all the kids that are about my age that run around braggin about their ****, but in reality all they pay for at most is the actuall truck payment (some don't even pay that), but they still live at home in their parents basement , parents pay their insurance, and I even know guys who get gas money from mommy.

18 yo. I know everyone talks about this old vs. young thing but I think everyone here has known that i'm a youngn and no one was ever rude, demeaning, or disrespectful due to my age. although I definately make sure to show respect to everyone else too. age doesn't have as much to do with it as the golden rulethe "do onto others what you would want them to do to you."

I grew up around guys who had brand new trucks from mommy and daddy and were able to go to school worry free because they got what they wanted and never had anything to worry about. I now work for somewhat wealthy people and am constantly driving around seeing this young punks driving their $30k truck like a bunch of idiots. Jealous? Hell yeah. I never got to finish school because I had to work. I have been working since 16 in construction and started a small home improvement/repair company almost 2 years ago.
