Sorry man can't help ya, I too am still looking for the perfect camping trailer. I would like to see someone make a poll on this topic, as to which brand is favorite or something. I know it is a little off topic of dodge, rams, or cummins, but surely since this is a 3/4 ton and up diesel forum there are alot of guys on here that have trailers, and would be able to make informative comments on this topic as well. I hope someone else answers your question, because I am also considering a forest river. lata

I say take the cash that you want to spend on a camp trailer and drive to the Hilton or the Hyatt hotel. You could even fly in and have your truck delivered and be ahead in the game. A travel trailer is kind of like buying a mobile home (nothing against mobile homes) you start losing money when it hits the pavement. If you can find a good used one for a fraction of a new would be the way to go. There is a zillion of them here in the southeast.

I have owned a Prowler (fleetwood) and now own a Pilgrim (open road) but I aspire to a Cedar Creek (Forrest River). I will probably settle for a Wildcat (Forrest River) as I don't have the funds for a Cedar Creek. Forrest River also makes the Cardinal line I believe. They are another high end model. I think they are better made than many of the others. All campers are put together fast and cheap with very light materials, so you have to handle them with kid gloves. When shopping here are some of the items you want on your rig: tinted windows, shock absorbers, radius doors, black tank flush, awnings over the slide rooms, bigger a/c if there is an option (at least 13500btu), easy accesss to spare tire, lots of storage inside and out. Take your time looking at the storage compartments your gonna need them! These are some high points.

I would not trade owning a camper for anything though. When I arrive where I am going my clothes are hanging in the closet and my food is in the fridge, and if I don't like the placec I'm at I can load up and go somewhere else. While they are a poor "investment", they are a great investment in family time and fun. We use ours almost every weekend from March through November, with a couple trips to the beach every year as well. Happy Hunting!

I was going to, but I didn't know if others would think it was appropriate on this forum. You think people will care?

I have a Sprinter(keystone) My brother in law has a Sierra(forest river) my dad has a sportsmen(kz). Dad is the only one who hasn't had problems yet My converter is out now and will be fixed soon. My brother in law has several converters go out. They are built for camping not living so whatever you buy it is very possible to have problems. Still I wouldn't give mine up for anything. (execpt maybe a new one)

I don't think it will be aproblem, there is always off topic stuff here that is not even closely related to our truck, this has to do with what we pull..............I'd go for it.
