Nick + 3500, to answer your question I've had my Garmin GPS for a few weeks now, and it has a feature where you push a button and it'll tell you all kinds of things. It tells you how long you've been driving, sitting, top speed, average speed, ect. I checked it yesterday I THINK it read something like 40 hours driving with 10 of those hours sitting. My max speed waqs 85 mph, but my average speed was 38 mph.

Does that help ??

frogger, you got yours for free because you walked in, batted your eyes, and dudes snapped at the chance to hook you up. It's a perk for being a chick, USE IT !!!

dieselram, I'd rather drive a hotfork in my eye than let my ladyfriend behind the wheel of my Ram. She can barely park a Taurus !!

Mayfair, that kinda answers your question. You are sitting still 25% of the time ( in traffic I assume). If you are sitting still idleing,0 MPH = 0 MPG, if you average 0 mpg and 20 mpg you will get 10 mpg. You starting to see the picture. I would be real interested to see what mileage you get out of the test I suggested above.

well, as if $75 wasn't enough, here's a diy device for $200.
this would be really good for $100, but $200 seems out of line.

So I shouldn't tell you guys that the hubby takes the truck to the dealer? I work and he doesn't so he has the time to sit around and I don't.

Hey Mayfair,
My buddy has a truck just like yours and he only gets 14 miles per gallon too.
His truck idles a lot and I think that's where his mileage is dropping.
When was the last time U just took it down the interstate and checked your mileage?
Also do ya have a bunch of crap in the bed?
They say for every 100 lbs U lose like 1 mile per gallon.
