So your finaly caving in on a programmer/box huh?[sm=icon_stickpoke.gif] I remember reading a post of yours saying you weren't going to do any upgrades... it was a while back but I do recall...
Well ... YES and NO

I'm still not looking to hot rod my truck mostly because I know ME pretty well. Gimmie a 6 second car, and I'll check to see if it actually is.

I'm only looking for something to give me a boost in my mileage. I don't know if mabe my year was just a mileage dog or what, but hearing guy's here getting 14 mpg pulling 12K trailers while I'm getting 14 mpg driving like Miss Daisy after a while starts to take a toll on you and bum you out. The one piece thatI don't have that it seems all of you guy's have is some sort of programmer. That's why I'm looking in that direction. I think the Edge EZ is all I need for mileage, but I just don't know enough about them yet to know for sure.

My untimate goal is to have a truck thatI can get a million miles out of and do it getting 17+mpg

My Hypertech programmer will allow you to chagne the tire size. When I got mine, the speed-o was about 7 MPH off. Not any more!

Hey Mayfair, It just hit me.........If you've been saying that you're only getting around 14 mpg, but you have over size tires right? Also, this post is about the amount of a dealership to reprogram your onboard computer to correct the speedo ? Therefore.......your speedo is incorrect, thus your milage on the odometer is incorrect, thus your estimation of your mpg is incorrect. I'm thinking that you're hopefully getting better than 14 mpg. I just came in from some morning yardwork, and it's hot and humid here. Maybe I'm a little light headed but that thought occured to me. What do you think?

Yeah Riv, I do have bigger tires than I had before. I went from 16" 245's to 17" 265's. Someone here gave me a link http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.htmlto figure out the difference in odometer readings and it say's that my odometer with my new tires is 3.7% off. My last few mileage readings were ...

7-1-07 - 14.04 mpg
6-24-07 - 12.69 mpg
6-19-07 - 14.04 mpg
6-1-07 - 11.94 mpg
5-24-07 - 13.11 mpg

You get the idea. Add the 3.7% to any of those numbers and you'll fell a little better knowing that it's not as bad as it looks, but it's still only in the 14's if your lucky. [:@]
