Default EGT Probe Exhaust Leak

Well I have fixed the problem with the intake boots leaking and I found that there was still a whistling noise coming out of the engine when the exhaust brake was engaged and the truck was hot and had plenty of back pressure. Come to find out the probe that Iput in the exhaust manifold a month ago is now leaking around the threads to the EGT probe, only when the exhaust brake is engaged and there is considerable backpressure. Does anyone know of a type of thread sealer I can put on the threads that will handle the temps off the exhaust manifold? I have that sucka in there so tight I'm afraid that it will break off if I get it any tighter.

Your not tapped deep enough for the threads to seal. NPT are very good a sealing in applications like the EGT probe. How many threads do you have engaged???

It is tapped all the way through. I think that I may have tapped too far with the tap.

The first boot in the series had a hairline crack in it. That was causing the squeeling noise and loosing boost. After I fixed the boot, I noticed the whistle in the EGT probe. I had 2 problems happen at once (go figure), actually 3 if you count the overheating from saw dust.

Yes if you can bottom out the probe adapter then you tapped too deep.

At this point you can only hope you have a 1/8" NPT probe. If you do then you can over size to 1/4" and insert your EGT probe with an adapter from 1/4 to 1/8.

No I did not bottom it out. I hope I'm OK. The probe actually goes into an adapter that has 1/8 on one end. I'm sure I can find one that is the next size up if I did screw it up. It has been working fine for a month, it just started doing leaking over the weekend.
