Ok i have been reading a bunch of post about this new 6.7l engine ... kinda got me concerned in some ways, first i read about the ecm flash for the regen cycle? I have never had that done is it something i need to get done? Second is i do a lot of city driving and only pull a trailer once a week at the most and dont do a lot of highway driving and i have about 4k miles on my truck now and havent had the DPF clog on me. Here is my next question, I know my truck uses ultra low sulfer fuel (15ppm) but where i live there are only 2 gas statsions that carries it, what happens if i put the low sulfer (500 ppm) fuel in it? This weekend i am taking a trip to outer banks and i called the local dodge dealer down there and they can only think of 1 gas station that carries the ultra low fuel, and another thing is that i have never had my oil changed and never had the change oil light come on yet either and i am sitting just about at 4k miles, please help clear things up for me,
Thanks

Usually I of the "if it ain't broke" school, but I would recommend the ECM flash if you don't have it. Note, that if your truck was built after June 12th, it already has the flash from the factory. Consult you dealer.
I put 10 gals of LSD in my truck this weekend before I woke up and noticed I was not pumping ULSD. I stopped pumping and drove about an hour before I filled up with ULSD (25 gals). IMO you'll be OK using LSD in a pinch, but I wouldn't do it on a regular basis. Remember, just because it doesn't say ULSD doesn't mean it isn't. LSD is becoming more scare by the day. The station may have neglected to change the sticker.
Have fun in OBX.![Big Grin](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

you'll know when the engine goes into regen mode. . .it'll be a little louder. if you havent had any problems most likely you already have the flash. also with the oil changes idiot light, it's not supposed to come on untill about 7500 miles.
you can run LSD through it, however the DPF will have to go through more regen modes and kill it quicker.

Since you just got it, the reflash was probably already done on it. I believe I remember hearing that there is a sticker on the radiator support if it has been done. Double check with some of the other 6.7's but I think that's how it went.
As far as your fuel concerns go, I don't think you'll have as difficult a time finding fuel as you think. I think most stations have made the switch, but either way I think that if you DO put a tank of LSD in there it'll just make it regen more. Not 100% sure on that one either as I too am still learning as these things pop up.
Best of luck with it, you've made the right choice.

Hmmm...I am unable to discern any difference in engine noise. The only indication I can see is my MPG dropping... [:@]

I only notice the noise if I come to a stop during a regen period. The way I can tell other than the EGT's going up 300-400 F, is that the engine temp will shoot up to 220F for no apparent reason, when it is done regenerating the temps come back down, and MPG's go to S***.
