B+W Gooseneck Ball Hitch Question

RE: B+W Gooseneck Ball Hitch Question
The general rule of thumb is to have the ball about 2" in front of the axle. The farther back you get the more you put weight on the rear of the truck instead of the axle and suspension. I've seen people put their own in and end up with the truck looking like it was hauling a heavy bumper pull instead of a gooseneck.

The B&W actually sits on the frame and then bolts to it's self. Then the hole you see keeps the hitch from moving side to side. There will be some cutiing in the bed but nothing needs to be cut or drilled on the frame.
