Stop useing 2 stroke = lower EGT's ??
Here's an interresting situation.
I forgot to add 2 stroke after my last fill up. After I remembered, I decided to let it slide this time and see how things go. Well ... the truck is running louder which I expected, but I almost think the EGT's are lower now as well. I caught it today while driving to work. When I'd stop at a light the EGT's sank pretty fast whereas before they'd take a little while to drop. Then I remembered the whole theory about how 2-stroke burns faster / better / whatever and it got me to wondering if useing the 2 stroke is raising my EGT's a bit because of it?
Whadda ya think?
I've been adding 1 oz. of 2 stroke per gallon of fuel. That's all I've been adding ...nothing else.

That'sIT ??
I'm RIGHT ??
Come on now !!
Do you think that adding 2 stroke is now a BAD thing to do because of the higher EGT's?
Do you think that useing the 2 stroke and that it burns faster that it was contributing to my $hitty mileage?
Continue useing at a lower dose?
Come on brotha !!

ha ha ha
I do notice a slight increase in EGT's as well. . .but I'm not to concerned sicne they dont get much over 1100. is it a bad thing. . .I would believe the benifits to your VP44 would outweigh the increased EGT's. as far as your mileage, I also doubt that, I think something else is going on there, I have yet to figure it out.

iknow i can hear a difference. and i'm pretty sure i can feel a difference on the "oil peddle" so i plan to keep dumping it in.. does my 07 pump even need the extra oil? doesn't matter cause i think i'd run it either way.. being stock with no guages i guess ignorance is bliss.. egt's? what are egt's?

does the 5.9L CP3 need the added lubie. . .nope, back in 03 it was already certified to run on the ULSD that was to be mandated for 07. does it hurt the CP3 to run the extra lubie, nope, infact some internal parts of the CP3 are cooled and lubricated by the diesel fuel itself. the extra lube not only helps the internals run better, but since there is less friction there is less heat
