Transmission Slipping?

RE: Transmission Slipping?
over tightening it will not allow the trans to shift. it will stick in the lowest gear possible. i did that to mine once. couldnt get out of first gear in a block..engine revved and had to shut it down.
sears has the in/lb torque wrench you want. buy it, us it, cklean it, return it (if you have to). they are about $85..well ok, they used to be less than $100....

Finally done with it, not too bad with the right tools. First time torqueing with guesstimate, way to tight, wouldnt shift outa second. Didnt go to sears but went ace real quik and they had a wrench that went as low as 5ft lbs, so jst went 6 to=72 in lbs. Then loosened as instucted and truck drove fine and as far as i can tell no more slipping. Ill gitty up a lil bit tonight just to check. Thank you all for your help. This place rocks!!!
