Ok, I have had no backup lights for the past several months, finally decided to fix it. Changed the transmission reverse switch (didn't work), checked all the fuses and they were fine, traced the wires and found none broken, checked the bulbs and they were good (still put new ones in). They used to come on every once in a while, now they never do. Any ideas, happen to anyone else???
Process of elimination.... Check the back-up switch to make sure it's getting power... if it is.. then check the wires.....over time you'll narrowdown where your problem is....
Jake, I have a 6 speed, the lights don't even flash going into reverse....
07, I did do all of that, I tried to get a reading off of the plut for the switch but I can't get a good reading, keep getting ones too high in the "hundreds"
set a relay under the rear end in a plastic box. run a line to your console and install a neat little toggle switch for the back up lights...then you dont have to rely on the trans or gear selector. just make it illuminated so you remember to turn em off!
