Default Oil change for the first time

Hey guys, I'm about to change the oil myself for the first time on this truck. Is there anything that I should know first orsome special steps? I tried finding a thread here but no luck. 2006 CTD dually. Thanx.

Biggest deal is the filter is rediculously tight on a brand new motor, and don't forget to pre-fill the filter before installation

Another gotcha I've seen posted is make sure the oil filter gasket from the old filter comes off with the filter and doesn't stay stuck to the housing. That will make a nice mess if you miss that.

They clear coat the new oil filters on there from the factory which is why they're such a pain. You'll never have as much fun getting the filter off as you do that very first time I don't know what they're called but you can get them at any autoparts store real cheapit's a stamped metal cup shaped tool that slips over the bottom of the filter and you put a 3/8's drive extension in it hooked to your ratchet and just ratchet the filter off. Nothing I tried would bust the filter loose that first time until I got one of those. You can forget those wrap around filter tools.They're worthless for these trucks there's no way to get your hands in there.
