Default RE: If you had to start from scratch

I definantly have been looking at the cold air intake systems out there. I think i like the banks system the best. it has proven flow bench test data for the 2006 dodge truck. if i could get that Amsiol nano filter that would have that same oval opening as the banks filter i would get it in a second. Right now im like a kid in a candy store ther is so much you could do but i want to do it all.

Well I got bad fuel in NE when I was coming back from leave so I had to put in a new pump anyway. It doesn't kill mileage as the amount of fuel it supplies is still driven by how hard you get on the go pedal.

heres what i plan to do (slowly as money allows)

1. programmer
2. exhaust
3. intake
4. ATS Transmission
5. new turbo
6. injectors

and then see where that gets me. right now my goal is 500rwhp and 1200 rwtq. those mods should more than do it.

Yes you can replace the camshaft in these engines without pulling the head. first off you have to tear the front tin off which means removing grill air to air rad fan ect. Then youll need to pull the valvecover and all the rocker arms and puch tubes. Then you need to get dowls that are slightly larger then the push tubes and cut a slot in one tip. You then drive the dowls into the lifters. This will allow you to pull the lifters up and slid the cam out. Then you insert a piece of carboard or something in the cam bore to catch the lifters (or else you'll be pulling the oil pan). Pull the dowels and let the lifters drop on to the cardboard and pull them out. Thats the easy part, putting the new lifters in is a pain in the butt. Pretty much using string to pull them into place.

1. 4" exhaust
2. Some sort of newer intake
3. FASS
4. Gauges - boost, fuel pressure, pyro
5. Edge ( at least a Comp box )
6. Mag-hytec trans pan and diffs

Pretty much the route that I went.

Well, I just purchased my second piece. Did my exhaust and now I have bought my intake. So we're moving on. All together I'm only into it for $350 so far. This thready could keep going for a long time.
