Default Wheel Hop!

Anyone know any backyard tricks to rid my truck from the terrible wheel hop it suffers from? I can't even spin my wheels in sand/gravel with out them trying to shake the truck apart. I was climbing a road covered with crush and run the other day and had to stop and put it in 4wd because I couldn't keep traction and the wheel hop was terrible. I thought I was going to snap something. I don't want to go the traction bar route, gotta be something I can tweak to make it better.

you may want to lower your tire pressure. make sure to have a portable compressor around.

what psi are your tires at anyway??

traction bars are going to be your best bet Nick. Without weight in the bed, it's always going to be like that. Why don't you want to go that route.

I know when I brought my truck home from the dealer... I came across I-40 which will beat the hell out of you. The truck was all over the place hpping down the road. In the snow, I could barely keep any traction and if they tires spun, the rear end hopped like crazy.

Then I installed some ladder bars. Wheel hop.... completely gone, traction snow or dry.... 100% improvement. It made it pretty hard the break the tires loose period.

Anything else you do is going to stiffen the rear end ( suspension ) and make the problem worse. You do have to get some like mine as I'm thinking you might think they're a bit large for what you want but, you can get some that are a single bar with heim joints that aren't so noticable.
