Wasn't going close to a Ford lot and my brother has a Chevy so I kind of knew what they had to offer ugly truck with no room on the inside. I've owned three Dodges and liked every one of them 97 Dakota, 02 1500 QC and now 07 2500 CTD 4X4. I would have to say the Dak & the 2500 I have injoyed more because the look on the face of a Mustang driver when you smoke him in a Dakota and the look on a VW Jetta drive when you smoke him in a 2500 4X4 is priceless.

 

My 6.7L gets 15 city/17 hwy with 8400 miles on odometer.

I had a 2004.5 Quad cab 5.9L with 4 speed auto. I was never crazy about the big drop in gearing between 3rd and 4th in the 4 speed auto. The Quad cab was also a bit snug for the family. I test drove the 2007.5 Mega cab 6.7L with six speed auto and traded in the 5.9L the next day. If I could get the 5.9L with the six speed and exhaust brake, I'd be in it. Since that is not possilbe, l'll just have to trust Cummins and Dodge to get the emissions stuff fixed and enjoy the 6.7L. I've only had the truck in twice for service (turbo replacement and O2 sensor module recall) for a total of three days so I can't complain too much.

Sorry I'm late gettin here, Congrats on the new truck, I'll bet you'll be happy with the milage once you get er broke in and DC works out the qwirks, and for some reason I get better milage when I jump up to speed (opposite of most gassers) I'm not saying you HAVE to floor it but get up to speed quick and keep a steady speed and it should put out nicely...

As for your mentionin the Powerjokers and Duracraps, The Duras not yet proven in my opinion even if it does have the allison trans, and for PowerJokes My family had a 99 5.9 CTD that they loved! butwanted a Q/C andgottagood deal on a ferdthey still have a 93 7.3 mechanical a 2000 7.3 PS and an 06 6.0 PSKing Ranch. My truck pulls better, is faster, AND has better Milage... My brother had a Duramax for less than 6 months then bought the 7.3 mechanical cause he hated the Dura and he's a die-hard chevy guy... They all love my truck and I'm sure they'll look into it when the time for a new truck comes and were talkin bout true ford/chevy ppl here....Yup I'm the smart one...On my 3rd dodge
