Should I buy a DMAX or Cummins
Thank your everybody with your real world experiences with the Cummins and Dmax. Some very good points were made. One thing that I have found kind of funny. I have been on some other forums, (Chevy/Ford) and some of those guys say how the Cummins engine is great, but the truck sucks? The engine will last allot longer than the truck itself, it fall apart, stuff just breaks, it's not a well built truck. I have been an autobody tech for over 15 years now. I have worked on my share of all of these trucks. And I have pulled allot of frames. I have stripped parts off these trucks down to nothing. And the Ram truck is BY FAR the most overbuilt truck out of the three.By no means is it a poorly built truck. Pulling a frame on a Dodge to line it up is 10 times more of a pain in the *** than the other two. They are stout for sure!
Well I will be making up my mind this weekend. Thank you for all your help.
P.S. this forum is much more fun than most others. There's to much smack talking on the other ones i've gone to.

As for the smack talking......it's like my wife tells me at home, "You ain't running anything except your mouth!"
Same goes when you throw a trailer behind the truck, you're either Cummin or you ain't going!

But I do gotta say Dodge has come a long way in the quality of the truck they rap around the mighty C. My dad has an 01 and (no offense 2nd gen guys you know I think they are sexy) it rattle and squeaks and makes all sorts of noises that I have never heard in my 3rd gen.
also we don't talk much smack....we just exchange luv taps
you know like a few guys that have known each other for 30 years sitting in the back of the bar...the more pitchers they've gone through the worse it gets.....well you never know who's been drinking around here
we have a bunch of dodges at work. we have well drillers at work. have you ever been around well drillers? the dodges seem to hold up ok.
we are also in oilfield country. i see a lot of dodges running down the road with roughnecks, rigs, work over rigs, and roustabouters.
