On top of all that I believe the truck is under powered. I have a welding bed on the truck and It needs about 60 more hp. It pulls about the same as my old 96 chevy diesel. (chevy rode better)
This truck has never been in the mud or "off road" most of the miles were on I-10.

I think you might have got a lemon. It should pull 3x times better than a 96 chevy diesel

But I do gotta say Dodge has come a long way in the quality of the truck they rap around the mighty C. My dad has an 01 and (no offense 2nd gen guys you know I think they are sexy) it rattle and squeaks and makes all sorts of noises that I have never heard in my 3rd gen.

At 10,000 miles the slave cylinder went out. Then a check engine light. At about 30,000 miles fuel injection pump cracked and had to be replaced. At 35,000 miles the drive shaft started causing a serious vibration and had to be changed.......Then shortly after that the clutch started slipping. Dodge changed the clutch, slave cylinder, pressure plates, and fly wheel.

yes, Dodge does have a few that just dont work right or last..
was this all in one year?
not sure about where you live, but here you could have turned it back in under the lemmon law..3 strikes in 1 year...
At just over 150k miles on 98% off road (oilfield roads) I have had my share of front end issues and brakes (solved brake issues this summer with bigger wheels) and to be honest, I would never bring a GM product out here (would never make it) Ford has about the same issues as the Dodge, mainly front ends (they like to take out front hubs) and poor mileage! With the 150k miles the only rattle I have is the rear window slider (manual wish it were power it might be tighter), if the slider seals get dirty (road dust) the window squeaks as itvibrates in the track.
