Default Roof clearance light question, can someone help me?

Hey guys, I posted this in the 2nd gen forum but didn't get any answers, so I was hoping somebody might be able to help me here.

I was wondering if any of you '94-98 or '99-02 guys with roof clearance lights could measure the center-center distance on the screw holes on the lights?

I got a '94 F250 awhile back and the factory roof clearance lights are pretty ratty. I was looking at some other factory roof lights, and the Dodge ones look like a close match (especially the '99-02 lights, they're almost identical in size), and I'm wondering how close the screw holes are in spacing. I'd like to retrofit a set if it's possible without too much hassle.

Thanks fellers

Mine are the old style 2nd gen cab lights. That's what Dodge sends if you order a DIY cablight kit for our 3rd gens. Didn't know that at the time.[:@] Anywaysjust laying a tape across they're on 1.750" centers.

What's "old style 2nd gen?" Are those the teardrop shaped ones or the ones that look like a computer mouse?

I know what he means now. His Ford has the tear drop cab lights. I think older 1st gen and early 12V 2nd gen Dodgehad those. Later 2nd gen and 3rd gens have the kind shaped like a mouse but the screws are in different locations late 2nd gen versus 3rd gen. Are we confused yet?

No, no...my truck has these kind:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Pacer-Ford-Style...sid=p1638.m118

Old Ford style.

I think the newer style lights look better. I did notice there's a difference between the "2nd gen" and "3rd gen" dodge lights (I believe the 3rd gens look similar but have the screws at the front and rear, instead of the sides).

These are the ones I want:

A lot of places have those listed as '99-02 so that's what I was going by.

Anyway I'll have to measure the screw hole spacing on my truck and see if those will work.

Yep those are what I put on my truck and again it's 1.750"between the screwcenters.. They do look way better than the stock Ford ones. More of a big truck look. And those hideous cab lights on the newere GM's what is up with those??Wish I had gotten the newer ones with a screw in the front and back.Just seemslike it wouldn't be as prone to leak that way.Butmine have neverleaked yet and I used absolutely no silicone on the install. So far so good.

Personally I'd go with the newer 3rd gen style that has the screw in the front and back. The mopar part number for them: 55077559AD
