Default Anodized badges????

i had a thought come to mind from a buddy of mine today. he was talking about some chick driving a white dodge cummins with all the badges painted purple and he was saying how hot she was in the truck (chicks driving trucks are a top ranking thing on our lists) and i got to thinking that my badges look to stock and i dont like the look of taking them completly off so i was thinking of painting them black. then i was looking and i came across this paint... http://www.levineautoparts.com/dupmet.html

anodized badges in a smoke color on my light silver truck w/ smoked roof lights[sm=feedback.gif]

now im thinking its a cheap thing to do but useing "paint" makes me think i will regret it when it starts to chip..... anyone think this would work or know of any other ways to get the anodized look??

I think it would look badass! My only question is though, painting wise, what do you plan to do? I think it would be hard to paint the badges while they are on the truck...

Sorry, I'm not feeling the love. Keep your badges the way they are IMO.

naaahhh I think Nicki should be proud to go w/ the pink badges

I think the paint would flake and be a PITA ... IMO

I would have to go find the bag I kept all the badging in out in the shed but I think they are for the most part just a plastic filled with a foam. Don't think it would hold paint very well.

I'm sure if you can dream it some yahoo on the internet has done it....keep looking. Maybe one of the places that some of the guys got their custom badges will have a black 'chrome' of some kind already done up.

If it starts to flake after awhile, your only out like 8 bucks, if it is flaking then most of it should come right off so it will be like it never happened

thanks for the honesty mayfair! thats what im looking for...

im gonna let it stir around in my head for the night and maybe order tomorrow if i still feel the same way. i also plan on doing tires and maybe rims soon also and my rims would be a misture of chrome and black, and i love the looks of fender flares so i would do those in black as well to keep the black on silver theme.

If anything, you could prop the badges about 1/8" off of the door and run some LED's behind them. Then they'd be backlit !!
