Default Superchips for the 5.9 Cummins....

Anyone have experience with the Superchips Flashpaq for the 5.9 Cummins. I have a 2007 2500 5.9 that I am considering adding a programmer to, mainly to optomize my fuel economy. Any advice?

I have a Flashpaq and if you are looking for power/milage I would do something else. It made absolutely no difference in milage and the power difference is ok but not great. Only thing that it has really done well was to adjust the speedo for a new tire size which was the main purpose I picked it up for. If you can find a used one for cheap give it a shot. If you are going to pay for a new one, save a few more bucks and get a Smarty.

i have a flashpaq in my 07, 5.9 with auto tran and love it!! have had edge in previous dodges and this is superior. so good, my friend bought one for his 07. consistently getting 24 mpg plus at 68-70 mph in performance mode. tows my 13000 lb tow hauler up the long hills at 65-70 easily in tow mode. my edge wouldnt do that. never have tried a smarty, but am more concerned with fuel consumption than power. however, in performance setting, 135 hp gain and 225 torque gain is pretty damn good. great fuel mileage if you can keep your foot off the go pedal, which is hard to do sometimes cuz of the grins you get when getin on it. buy one you wont regret it.

Drew, Is your 425hp with the Smarty and a stack?

I have the 3805 stacked with a Xzillaraider and it has a ton of power. Hard to drive on wet days without X turned on. I ran the 3805 alone on performance setting for a long time. It adds a lot of power alone.

the 425 is SW#4(90hp) and my TST on 2/1 (55hp). the low end of smarty is truly nuts when you load the wild torque management software. I'm probably going to load the aftermarket turbo software after I do some mileage tests since it fuels even harder in the lower RPM's.

the 392hp was just the TST alone (5/3, 115hp) and the clutch slipping the whole time.

I have the diablo sport predator and I love it. I can not wait to get all the supporting mods so I can stack it with the power puck

the diablo is great. I do have a little turbo lag, but when I hit 10 mph the 35's do spin a little. Mileage is hard for me to calculate as I run wvo and pump mixture, but I did run it all week and still have more then 1/2 tank (33 miles one way to work). Smoke is insane. power is sweet. I run the economy setting and get more than enough power. when I return it to stock I get disapointed.

can someone please talk me out of getting a smarty..... if i went with the diablo sport predator i could have power which i would hope to be the same as the smarty for $250 less...

the only thing i am weary about getting into another diablo product was the very high egt's the power puck gave me, and the fact that mileage did not improve what so ever[&o]

does anyone know if the diablo sport predator makes power the same way as the powerpuck because they both plug into diffrent places?!?!

also jimmy, i dont know how long you have had that for, but do you recall it lowering rpms when you first got it? my XZT did but the power puck did not and thats where i think i got my mileage gains...

(sorry i ask so much, its just that i had planned to buy the smarty with my tax returns coming next week but im just looking for a cheaper alternative before i take the smarty plung)
