subs into a mega cab?
in my 07 mega cab slt, i am looking to install some 12" subs i am pretty sure that there are no high level inputs on my deck so i will have to tap into the factory speakers, but i was wondering if anyone has done it and what kind of sub box(homemade or bought) one can use to fit in this truck! and is there any factory wireling to tie in the amp? any input would be awesome!

no mega cab experience butI installed anMTX Thunderform in my sons 03 quad cab..I thinkI found info on crutchfield.com for identifying the wires in the door pillars (or possibly a google search).. just spiced into the left and right hand side and used the amps 'high level inputs'.. I connected the amp remote-on switch to an acc wire. I wishI would have installed a remote volume control for better tuning the sub to the system.. but overall he is happy with it.

Do you have the 7 speaker Infinity radio or the stock 4 speaker? If you have the Infinity you can ONLY tap into the front door speakers. The Infinity amp has an internalcrossover and only the front door speakers get the low frequencies. If you have the standard setup any of the speaker leads would work.

i got the non infinity system! i am unsure it is the four speaker system which it probably is , its the slt model so probably, does any one know if the slt model is prewired for the infinity system( the sub wire or power? ) i have the fuses in my fuse panel so i was kind of assuming that it might be?

IF you are really set on staying with the stock deck use the hi low converter...easiest way and cheapest. If you ever plan on upgrading your deck to an aftermarket one do it! The sound quality will be so much better. I installed stereos for 4 years and have a little bit of experience with the hi low converters. They are a good idea if you are ok with a little less sound quality. With that said, sound quality is more important to others. I myself will settle for less BOOM or volume for a better sound...If you just want to add that something extra you will be fine with the stock deck
