Default Black or aluminum **results with pics**

I'm tired of all my junk sliding around and getting wet in the bed of my truck. I'm gonna break down and get a toolbox and some siderail gaurds. It's gonna be a low profile one because of the fifth wheel so it isn't gonna show that much. I can't decide on the black or silver. I really like the looks of the black but I'm afraid the paint will just scratch off. I like the Line-X over the rails but I already have bedliner and don't want to shell out that much jack. Here's the truck. Your input is greatly appreciated.

I voted black. Since it's low profile, I think it would look pretty good.

Why don't you just have the bed rails sprayed? Instead of doing the whole thing. My truck had the plastic bed covers on it and I hate them. It's scratched the paint.

Man i would go with the black thats what i have black tool box and black diamond plate bed caps i have had them for two years and i only have like two spots were it chiped but it was my fault. My girlfriend put sliver box and bedrails on hers about a two months ago from tractor supply and they already need to polished i told her to go with black but everyone knws how girls are! And yes she drives a 01 ram 3500 like mine muahahahaha my doing of course couldnt let the girl get a mini ford ranger or dakota even though i do like the dakotas!

I went back and forth on this very issue before I got mine. I love the look of the black boxes (especially on a white or silver truck), and I wouldn't worry about any paint chipping issues. What made me go with the silver was the heat factor. Black absorbs heat, silver reflects it. On my old F150 I had a silver box, and even in the mid-day sun in the dead of summer, the inside of that box was cool. All depends on what you typically keep in there, but for me, the heat issue was the deciding factor.

I voted for the black, and while you're out shopping, pick yourself up some nice new BLACK wheel well liners !!

i voted black for the reason of you already have a black accent on your rig. i got a silver one because it came off my last truck, but if i went at it again i would still get silver just for the fact im use to it. but if you go with a black box and rails then i think you will have something cool going.

if you go silver, its only silver for some time anyways..... or atleast thats the luck ive had with my box. after a few years its no longer shiny, it just looks dull and there is no way to restore it.

Hey Bars...........you could always go "Camo" like my camp truck!

Naw......just kiddin, I agree with the black. It would be a good complimentary color contrast to your base silver.

The silver box on that silver truck just won't be a close enough color match unless you paint it to match. I'd go with a black one if it were me, the contrast will look better.

PS: BigRiver, that pony in the bed really makes that Yota squat. Wow!

Got to say black. I have a silver Kobalt toolbox that has been sitting in the garage for about a year and half. Loved it on the blue ford I used to have, but just doesn't look right against the silver dodge.

I go back and forth between leaving it off and painting it black.
