Improving back up lights

Improving back up lights
I was hopeing that members might be able to offer a solution for improving the back up lights on our trucks. I would like something that appears to be stock and actually improves lighting. I was considering the Recon-Line of Fire for below the tailgate but littlefrogger posted that they really did not help as back-up lights.

I use this and it really lights things up back there

I know it's not stock but it takes about 5 sec to install/uninstall
I agree, the stock bu lights on these trucks suck!

RE: Improving back up lights
Well since I was busted out as bashing Line of Fire for the lighting effect I guess I'll show what I will be doing. I've got all the parts under the seat just haven't done it yet.
Um stock might be a stretch but with the way it looks like the stock fog lights it might be considered a "stock" look
Who doesn't think it's cool to take a 4" whole saw to a chrome bumper
parts:
2ea. #4411 lights from Napa
2 4 inch rubber light grommets
1 relay, one three position switch
2 wire splices, 8 ring style crimp connectors (1/4 inch hole)
8 insulated female spade connectors
a roll of red wire and a roll of black wire.
Wireing it up w/ a 3 way switch so it can run w/ reverse or 'as needed'
Hope to get the truck into the shop in the next couple weeks to do this and put my pans on.

RE: Improving back up lights
i never seen such thing! i was looking to do something back there all winter for better visability snow plowing but found out i cant tap into the reverse lights because theres not enough power for an extra light. then i found the light that goes on your hitch which has 2 bright lights on it but costs over 100$... if i would of seen this i would of wrote a check right away!
winters almost over so i guess im a day late, dollar short

I Just Added Recons Backup Lamps To My Truck - The Only Thing I Didn't Like About The Standard Backup Lights - Is The Angle Of Projection. When I Back In At Night - I Don't Want To Wake My Neighboors Up Blinding Them.
The Recons Are Directed Mostly To The Ground & Sides..
Here's Them In Action on My Truck..
If You Want Them To Function Like OEM Lights Would Check Out My DIY..

btw that 1/4 light, how long do you think youll have that sittin there before someone steals it, they make receiver hitch locks for what 20-100 dollar hitches, yeah pintle hooks can cost more, but figure someones more apt to just walk by and grab the light before they would an unlock rec hitch.
