Default I gotta vent here guys-sorry

I just talked to my dad on the phone, he is about to lose his house. Like thousands of homeowners in arizona, foreclosure is close. All because of my c*nt mother. My dad owed her child support from when I was a kid, but he didnt pay if becuase all the money went to my mom's and her boyfriends drug habit. So she kept bitchen and bitchen about the money to the state of arizona, and they took his paychecks. So he was forced to refinance his house to pay the bitch off. It has been about a year and a half now, and he cant do it any more. The mortgage is too high. So, he is losing it.

I hear you man. . .one of the guy's that works next to me, his father just lost his house due to non-payment. it was either pay the mortage, or get food. . .well, to add injury to insult, he had a heart attack over the weekend.[&:]

your fathers case is quite different than the currnet crisis though. Here in GA it is due to people grossly overstating their income, not showing all their debt, or not planning on pay cuts. that is most of the problem in america. Yes, the banks should not have given out alot of the loans they did, however they were also pressured to hand out loans. I wish I had more disposable income personaly. . .I'd buy up alot of the houses that have been forclosed on in the area. . .5+ acres in this area.

Then I am sure you can see it as well as I can, our country is going under. Our economy is collapsing, people can barely afford to pay for fuel, our borders are broken. It is a philosophical trojan horse.

One thing I have to say is it is mostly a media induced issue. too many people watch and listen to the news way too closely, and most of the news casts I have seen are hyped up.

this is a very deep subject to get into but, Drew.... do you actually budget for " pay cuts " ? How would you do that anyway ?? I've come real close to the same situation. I'm self employed in the construction industry which seems to have been hit the hardest. Without construction.... our country can't survive.

It's not like i went out and bought a house knowing it was too much to afford. I bought a house based on what I could afford but, when there's no work, there's no mortgage. It's not because the bank gave me money I couldn't pay back based on false documents. I think there's a lot of people like myself in the same situtation... there's just no work. The influx of our southern neighbors haven't helped either.

I don't know what can fix things but, I sure hope it happens soon. I'm one of the lucky ones who lives and works in a micro-climate and not as affected by this depression we're in. I know there's too many out there though that could used some of the 90 billion or more a month being spent of a joke of a war.

Ty. . .I cannot be fired, let go, or have a pay cut. it is written into the law that created my job and others like it around the country. What I get payed goes to the mortage, bills, and thats all. What Lorie gets payed goes for everything else. Lorie on the other hand can be laid off, however since she is in the nursing industry there is always a huge demand to these people. If lorie does get laid off, or takes a pay cut I will have to give up beasty, and a few other luxeries of life.

for what I do I dont get payed as much as other people in the area, however my possition is garunteed.

Ty, what you do IS the backbone of this country, and people like you, who are self employed, IS what keeps this country rolling.

I think the child support system is sick and wrong... I've seen so many times where the kids become a tool for money or used as a wedge to create a bad devorce. I think that child services should be involved more and be checking both sides out more often. But what I've seen of it. It a great tool for the woman most times...

I think the child suppost system NEEDS to be re-written or gotten rid of...

Sorry to hear you Dad going to lose his home... Really sad...

I am self-employed also and am having a real hard time determining if I just havent had any calls for larger jobs or if the economy is a problem. The media will surely put thoughts in your head, I konw it has had me thinking twice. We do mostly small jobs (couple weeks is usually the max) some just for a few hours so I rely on a certain volume of calls to stay busy. Usually summertime I get backed up for 3 months or so and my workload is typical at this point but I find myself saving every penny beacuse there is so much information out there (correct and not) I dont know what to think.

As for child support I think they ought to come out with a check card similar to what they have for food stamps, the actually have a card and at the time of checkout you can swipe that card first an it pays for eligible expenses.
If that's too complicated then a check card that can't be used at an ATM or for cash back, this way you can track the expenses and order reviews of receipts. Not fool proof but its something.

Sorry to hear about the foreclosure, a few words of advice, a lot of mtg cos are working with customers to lower the interest rate a lot temporarily or by some over the long term to help out, they done want a foreclosure, theyll lose a lot more money that way. If it can't be saved, look into deed in lieu of foreclosure, you have to put it in writing to your mtg co that you are the one wanting this. Basically it saves the mtg co from all the lawyer fees involved in a foreclosed and in return they won't slam your credit with a foreclosure, itll still hurt it but not as much.
