Default Drew and or Ty....

Hey guys, i was just talking to david parts/service about how I can recalibrate my speedo for the 37's. Apparently dealers can't do it with the scan tool. he said he thought that smarty's could go up to 37's?.. is this true. If it is, is it possible for a local guy near me who is using one to just loan it to me so i can change my speedo, or does the smarty have to stay plugged in for the speedometer fix to continue to work?

thanks!!

if you can find someone with the right year, borrow it. once you load the program on and then take it off, it will leave your truck with the high idle enabled and also the correct tire size calib. and it will do up to a 42" tire with i think .10 increments. i know i'm not close (tx) and it will be a week before i am home, but if you cant find anybody by then, pm me

The Smarty is vin locked to the vehicle for that parameter, I already tried that... The speedo re-cal is tied into the ABS and that part of the smarty is vin locked

If I'm not mistake, the Smarty will do up to 40" tires. It's only VIN locked when you have it loaded on a truck. As long as you return the truck to stcok... it will load on another truck. If you have access to a Smarty, you could try it. You don't even need to load a program as like mentioned, it's a part of the ABS which is a different system than the ECM. It should work.

If not, Superlift sells a stand alone re-calibrator.

Yes it does work that way. I have put my truck back to stock several times and I have checked with the GPS and the tire calibration stays no matter what. The only way for it to change back is if you acually change it back your self.
This is also true for the high Idle feature. Once inabled, it also stays even if the truck is returned to stock.

It's in the works and suppose to be very soon, like this month or next. The 2nd gen guys got kinda left behind on the software updates so, they wanted to be sure they were happy before releasing the 6.7 software.
