Default Diesel or Gas which one should i go with

im planing on buying a 05 diesel but here in canada diesel cost more the gas.iwant a truck that will go 400.000k or more with no problems and get the most kms per tank so between a diesel and gas motor which would last longer and get better mpg.by the way whats everones mpg on their diesels.

D..d...d..d..d...d...DIESEL!!!!!!!!! They'll run 1,400,000kms. Oh wait, only a ctd. Or cat. Hmm, nobody sells a cat in a pickup. Yet. And no vehicle has No problems. But an 05 ram ctd would be the least problematic. Go get it already!

That all depends on what you want a truck for. If it's for towing / hauling, then I'd say to go with the diesel. If it's just a daily driver / cruiser, then at this point I'd say to go gas. Whatever you decide mileage wise, the diesel is going to outlast the gasser without breaking a sweat.

The tundra diesel almost went with cat, that's why cat sponsors toyota in NASCAR. But toyo decided to go with hino as they own it so unit cost would be lower.

Diesel, hands down. But that's my completely biased opinion. Probably won't own another gasser as far as trucks go.

One more thing, RamIt, you rave about 'Yoda a lot. You've got me questioning your vehicular orientation...

If you want an engine that is going to go 400K than I think you already know the answer to your question as to which one is going to come closer.

yeah im really a spy for toyota haha
no my former almost father in law and i are great friends, he's a BFD at toyota so he takes me along to some of their proving ground tests... toyota does make a bad *** truck, i just hate the typical toyo truck owners, theyre not men. ive said it before but for those that didnt read the thread i could have gotten any new tundra for 8% less than what the dealer has to pay toyota (not that BS dealer invoice that they show), since he works for the mfg he gets em right out of the factory and wouldnt have to pay dealer costs, destination, advertising fees etc, could have had em the day the new tundra hit the streets a year ago. i will be interested though in seeing what toyo does with that hino diesel in 2010, itll be a light duty so prolly wont be up to the specs of the cummins but fuel econ will be a lot better with a smaller diesel in a half ton...

hey and lets not forget toyota tundra is BUILT in TEXAS not mesko or canadia...
