I see Geno's have a double deep trans pan for $275 also add 4 Extra quarts of fluid, what do you guys think about this one,or do you recommend another deep pan ?
Also i don't have a problem trying to drop the pan and change the fluid and filter, but i don't have the proper pump set up to flush the torque converter ,any ideas on how to do it at home.

I wouldnt worry about flushing the whole system unless the fluid is burned. drop the pan, change the filter, and fill her back up

you could also look at the PML pans. . .$200

Any good experienced tranny guy will tell you to just drop fluid from pan, replace filter and reinstall the pan, then top up fluid. Unless you have major tranny issues, burnt fluid, bad torque converter or other issues. Not worht the trouble if tranny is in good shape.

Course they may just be saying this,as its a PITA to hook up the machine and flush the fluid!

Drew . do you think that the trans cooler that the truck comes with is sufficient, or should i be looking at a bigger cooler than a bigger oil pan ? Just trying to see which way i would get more cooling for the $ ?

Few things to chew on, if you pay now and get a flush filter and amsoil you won't be needing any new atf for 100k miles.
If you do any off roading I wouldnt buy a deeper pan, there's been two recent posts on tranny temps, I posted there a tranny cooler, its an extra rad that connects to the orig tranny rad but has a designated e fan on it. That is better than a deeper pan. Look for those posted, someone posted a pic of the oem and the deeper pan and I just couldn't imagine going over rocks and stumps with that.

the stock cooler is good. . .however the pan does leave alot to be desired. the extra capacity will help on those long runs pulling a trailer on grade, also the aftermarket pans usualy have cooling fins on them to give extra cooling. the more capacity the more heat that can be in the fluid, and not in the clutches and bands.

Just want to say thanks to all you guys that responded to my post.I am new to the dodge forum and i think this is the bestforum, whenyou need help withyour dodge.
I think i am going to go with changing the pan and filter myself, you guys have convince me.
As i have said ,i only use the Dodge 3500 to pull my 44' Pace enclose race car trailer,i travel from Florida to Virgina with it.
The truck pulls the trailer loaded with car and equipment with no problem.I bought the truck new and i just want to take good care of it,so thanks for the help

Sorry for chiming back in so late, was out advertising.

The only ATF I see RP carrying is a 5 gallon jug for $140. I thought it came smaller but, guess not. My bad.

I agree that you can and should do it yourself, its VERY easy to do. You should listen to all these other guys though, and go with the mutual decision to run synthetic fluid and get a deeper pan. Your temps will drop dramatically!

id spend the money on a cooler vs pan
The first one kicks on at 180F, but also has a manual switch to kick on whenever you want

this one has an automatic kick on at 175F and no manual switch

heres a pic of the oem vs deep pan, imagine that hanging down?
go with the cooler

Do it yourself, it can be a bit messy but it is easy. I bought mopar fluid from the dealer and they charged me $58for 5 quarts. I learned after that I need 7 (stupid dealer) so while I was in Wal-mart I saw that they had the same Mopar atf for $4.88 a qt. Get your filter and gasket (its reusable but its nice to have just incase) from genosgarage for $27, your fluid from wal-mart for $40 and give the dealer the finger next time you pass it.
