Default RE: Auto transmission service Question

Look around and find a good transmission shop that works on Diesel Pickup transmissions. You should be paying about $150-180 for a complete changeout and that is with a deep pan. ALSO, CHANGE IT EVERY 15,000 MILES. With what you are towing, I would go to 15,000 service intervals on the transmission. I have an ATS Stage 5 and they wt it for 150,000 miles, BUT I have to have it serviced by a shop every 15,000 miles, record the data and send it in to them. You are pulling a lot of trailer, thats why I would go to 15,000 mile service intervals.

Woops,

I did not intend to say you should change out all of the fluid, I'v had trans shops tell me that is a bad idea. If the transmission has quite a few miles on it, just do the normal service. The $150-180 is what I'm paying for a normal service, including filter change, on a transmission with a deep aluminum pan.,
