Yeah, I was pretty surprised to see Circuit City in there. Sharper Image surprised me too. I thouhgt those yuppies LOVED the Image.

 

Sharper image was in the news in Reno after christmas for turning away gift cards because of their bankruptcy

 

mayfair, sharper image closing shows you the middle class is hurting, now when hammacher schlemmer goes under then the yuppies are hurting. My dad gets that in the mail, stuff they have in there is rediculous. They had an inflatable trampoline that you can use in the ocean, it was freakin huge. And the stuff that you can buy elsewhere generally has a 30% markup.

 

more and more companies are having a hard time competing with the superpower that is named walmart. .. .I mean china. yes I still shop there, just bought a new fishing rod and reel. . .made in the USA BABY!!!

 

Just searching around,I checked a few out. Hollywood Video gets a yes, Linens N Things gets a yes, sharper image gets a yes, and Circuit City gets an "in the process of filing chapter 11" they are getting bought buy Blockbuster.

 

I kinda figured CC was going under... the ones by me look the same between 9-6 as they do at 2am. 100% empty parking lots!

 

Levitz is hurting because of the housing market and because with the prices of food and fuel going up people don’t have extra money to buy things for there home. People are hurting so bad they will not even buy a lamp to make it look a little nicer or even replace the old couch or easy chair that is in dire need of being replaced and thus Levtiz is in bankruptcy along with many other companies who have been around for 20-30 years.

 

pretty soon your stores of choice will be wal mart and tractor supply
