Default firearms thread ..since we like to share

I went to the gun show yesterday at Mesa Centenial hall in Mesa, AZ .

traded the CZ 50 .32acp for credit towards a new Springfield XD compact 45 5" tactical

$500 - $150 for the CZ +tax
(includes hard case, quick draw holster, dual mag holster, speed loader, cable lock, bore brush, 9 rd compact mag and a 13 rd hi-cap mag)

no waiting period in ARIZONA for LEGAL residents

picked up 500 rounds too

I saw Kimbers and the like. wayy too much $$ for me right now..7 bills+.....errrrr

this saturday Yimmy and I are heading out to test fire the XD.

next thing to do is sell my norinco sks with all accessories and 500 rounds of ammo.

heres my compact 45...

Thats a sick looking weapon. Is it a composite material?

lower is all composite

upper is all steel

when the xcap mag is used, it ads the length to the grip and makes it "full" size.

when you break it down, the lower feels less than a pound.

I will get vids or pics of the shoot this weekend.. watch out world and angry white man and an angry mexican are on the loose!!! bwa ahahahaha

Let me know if you wanna trick that puppy out. My little stable is would fall into the "HIGHLY" modified category for XD's.

Here's a pic of my "limited" gun and a few of the goodies I've put on it and done to it.

Let me know if you wan that triggerto break like a TRUE single action.

XD40 Service (Limited Gun)

XD9 Tactical (Production Gun)

XD40SC (Carry Gun)

I've done the trigger job on all of these. I'll get a better pic of the .45 with the TrueGlo TFO's on it later on.

I got a ton of links for parts, service, etc for the XD's whenever you are ready to turn that thing into a REAL smoker.

We are going to have to start an XD club here, here are mine, the sub-compact is my daily carry. They are both stock except I put trijicon tfo night sights on the sub. Typically carry in a fobus paddle hip holster.

I have a Fobus, but the paddle type still sticks out a bit farther than I'd like.

Now I have a Galco M7X Matrix (very minimal holster) or I use my Crossbreed Supertuck IWB.

Again, if you guys with XD's want to VASTLY improve the trigger feel on your XD's, let me know. I can get you either completely drop in parts or can fit parts for you.

My .40 Service has a total travel of less than3/8", 1/8" pretravel to clear the trigger safety, slight sear engagement, break, and about 1/8" over travel. It has a pull weight that averages 2lb 4oz - 2lb 9oz on a Lyman digital guage. The XD40SC is the same, except the weight, I have that up around 3.5 - 4 lbs for carry. The XD9 Tactical is a bit longer and not as light. I was shooting that in IPSC Production Division that has a 5lb trigger weight rule.

Here is where I generally get my XD parts from. Really great dude. SUPER fast shipping and great service. Can't say enough about him.

Also, check out Scott Springer at Springer Precision. I've talked to him several times, another really great dude. http://www.springerprecision.com/

Also, if you do wanna check out a good XD forum, check out www.xdtalk.com. I go by the same screen name over there.

I replace the spring and guide with Don's guide and I can get back on target quicker with less recoil.

I need to get the triger worked on in the future
