Default 4.10 question on fuel MPG

I have a 06 mega cab with a 5.9 and a 4.10. I hand calculate 15.7 about all the time. I was wondering if this was par for you guy's with the 4.10's. I drive alot of interstate and I run about 75 to 80. No mods on my truck.

Thanks

Keep your Hwy speed at or below 70 MPH should improve your fuel mileage. Its the high RPMs and speed that kill your fuel mileage.

Do you guy's know how hard it is to drive the interstate and keep it below 2K. I am trying , I swear I am. Everytime I get passed I want to jump over in the right lane so bad.

Its not hard at all if you want to get better mpg and in turn save $$$$$. You just need to learn to not let it bug you!

Yeah, you should prolly consider getting some 37's, then you can run those speeds and get better mpg (and look cooler doin it ).

I normallt set my cruise for 55 MPH regardless of highway speed.. I don't have interstates near me.. Max speeds out here are 55 and 65 MPH... Period...

That normally hit me right around 21-22 MPG... Simple rule of thumb to follow...

"Keep your boost user 5 PSI and pyro under 600*F and 20+ MPG will happen"

Take a peek at...

Steve, my truck with the 6 speed is geared about the same in OD as your truck with the auto and 4.10's. If I run 65 I get great mileage (19 - 20), if I go just a hair above that it starts dropping off, at 70 and above it drops quickly. Try an experiment, when you get on the interstate run 65 and set cruise. You will be amazed the overhead will start climbing and if you continue to drive like that for most of the tank your hand calc will reflect the increase.
