You definitely won't want to crank up the power while you are towing, unless you've done some decent intake mods (i.e. aftermarket intake, intercooler, manifold) and opened up the exhaust. Otherwise, it's gonna build heat fast on the hills. Extra fuel needs extra air to keep the temps in check.
I don't turn my Edge up past 2 while towing even 8 - 9K. On the hills, you can see the temps come up quick any higher than that.
Besides, the stock tranny will take a beating if you turn it up more than that.
