04 HEMI 04,

What grade of gas are you useing 87, 89 or 92? When was the last tiem you use a good additive to clean up your injectors? I've learned it can pay to run a good additve in your tank once or twice a month to bring your mpg up that can be lost with out any noticeable power loss.
i always use 89 and the last time i put fuel additive was octane booaster last month i think.

FYI, octane booasters are Ok but 99% of them will not clean your injectors. See if you can find a quart bottle of Lucas upper cylinder lube and injector cleaner, then add 16 oz of it to a full tank of gas. After the first 16 oz clean up you can get by using 3 oz per 10 gallons of gas added to the tank. It should cost around $10.00 or less for a quart of it. IMHO its a cheap cost to see if it can up your mpg even a small amount and clean up your injectors at the same time. BTW I use 3 oz of Lucas in my wifes gas engine 1-2 times a month and it restores lost fuel mileage. Example she will notice her gas mileage is down in to the 25 mpg range, then when either one of us adds 3 oz of Lucas it goes back up into the 27+ mpg range and why I buy it in the gallon jug so that its cost effective to use. That and I also use it in my CTD

I know this may sound silly, but unless you are gunna buy the cummins Powered Ram to pull a trailer, KEEP THE HEMI!

you get 8-11 in the city
I get 11-14 in the city

you get 14-16 on the highway
Best I have gotten is 17.5

so lets run some quick numbers let say we run some numbers here and use worst case and best case mileage numbers
lets say in 10k miles of all city driving.
your gallons 1250 (worst)/ 909.1 (best)
My Gallons 909.1 (worst) / 714.3 (best)

Diesel here in the Republik of Kalifornia is on average 50 cents per gallon more than fuel.
And lets use the numbers I seen...and spent Saturday. $4.099 Unleaded $4.599 Diesel
you spend $5123.75 (worst)/$3726.40 (best)
I spend $4180.95 (worst) / $3285.07 (best)

So less than $1k dollars difference per 10k miles is the Best savings you would see. This does not include more expensive oil changes, and if you are here in Kalifornia, more expensive registration, and the more expensive payment.

On top of all that, once you get a diesel, the BOMBS begin!!! That really costs money.

So if this is your commuter??? I would say hell no! Now if you REALLY have the need for a bigger truck to pull a trailer then I say go for it.

OR If you just have lots of money and really don't give a damn what it costs...then by all means DO IT! However please don't say it was for fuel economy, because the payoff just is not there.

Of course that is all just my opinion with a little math on the side.

Walmart stopped selling it last year so try Napa, Advanced Auto, Pep Boys, Car Quest or a truck stop but a truck stop may have higher prices the the auto parts store.

I switched from an 05 1500/Hemi to a 06 2500/Diesel about a year and a half ago.

My results with the Hemi were about as noted (13/14 city, 16/17 Highway, and 10 towing 4-5K )

After the Diesel broke in (30K miles) my results are 15/16 city, 18/19 highway and 14 towing the same rig)
Foot has a lot to do with everything, try and stay under 70, and ease away from a stop.
IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE

But its the towing that makes the Diesel shine, hills are just bumps in the road where the Hemi strained.
All my MPG calculations are hand. The computer is about as accurate as a politician running for office.
I have seen it over 5+ MPG off, but it is usually about 15% in error.
I assume Dodge wants it that way to make us feel goodso wetell everyone how great our MPG is.

My CTD does better than I ever expected. i average about 14/15 city and 21/22 Hwy. I can squeez close to 720miles out of a tank with just highway driving (thats I-5 from Nor-cal to so-cal all flat sratight highway). Uses just over half a tank for me to go to my in-laws about 450 miles.

I get about 360 miles to around 27 gallons (I average around 13.4). Not bad considering the 37" tires and lift.
