Default Help me solve this argument with a Duracrap owner

I've heard this rumor from some Duracrap owners that the some states are checking to see if you have run red diesel in your truck by taking your intake manifold off and running a test on it looking for red fuel residue. They supposably can tell if you have run red diesel in your truck in the past several thousand miles. I say b^ll$h!t! Diesel engines are fuel injected and the only thing running through your intake manifold is compressed air from the turbo. Unless your turbo goes into reverse and becomes a vacuum there is no way any fuel residue is going to get into your intake manifold.

The only thing I've heard about checking for people running red is to put a stick in your fuel tank. I can't imagine the state going through the expense of pulling a manifold.

Yup, I can see that...........a team of police mechanics on the side of the road to dissasemble your engine to check out this crap, then say "have a nice day", and walk away.

Just goes along with the duracrap owners inferioroity complex they have.

You're right. The only way they can tell is to look in your tank or at your fuel filter( I think it may stain it).

I know this is a load of crap. I just got sick of hearing it. And nothing I said was going to shut them up. Just the thought that it is physically impossible to do and to hear them yack about on and on and on, just chaps my @ss.

Every fuel filter I have ever pulled out of my filter housing for my tractor has been black. Didn't matter what type of fuel I put it in.

Like said above, all they do is the tank test. It does take several tanks for the dye to clear out though. The ranch my dad used to work for had EVERYONE get busted one day, was not a good day.

First, you can't argue with at Duracrap owner. Think about it,if there not smart enough to buy a CTD in the first place, how can you expect them to have any common sense...
