2500 running hot
hay guys, I have a 03 2500 that's got over 200.000 on it,iv added a juice/w attitude, afe cold air intake packs brk and 3.5 inch free flow muffler, I'm having a hard time keeping the temp down it runs at 200 to 215 any ideas is appreciated
Check your coolant level. Thermostat and water pump. I just had to replace my pump due to it leaking from the front. If it's not leaking then I would think about replacing the thermostat. just my .02 cents
Since you're in AZ and have lots of miles, I would flush out the exteral radiator fins with something like SimpleGreen. DO NOT USE a power washer, just a regular garden hose pressure is enough.
Check your breather catch bottle, it is probably gone, or full. Extend the drain hose a little farther back, just be sure there's no low spots in it.
What happens is the oil mist from the breather gets pulled into the radiator by the fan and then the oily fins start collecting dust, which slowly plugs the fins causing hot temps.
The other suggestions are also good things to look into.

hay all, thanks for all the info, I to had to replace my leaky water pump and was amazed how easy it was,it didn't change anything for heat but its dry now, I'll try spraying out radiator out see if that helps, thanks again
