Default Straight Kerosene?

Is it possible to run straight kero with some sort of addative like Lucas addative, etc. or is there any other issues besides just lubrication?
I have run 20-30% kero with BIO but I dont have any bio diesel at the moment and have a bunch of kerosene and don't want to waste it.

Thanks

Run some non-detergent motor oil, or 2 stroke oil with it. I'd go about a qt per 10 gallons. If the Kero is red there could be fuel tax trouble, if you're caught.

Hounds, what year is the truck?

If it's a VP44 or CR truck, I wouldn't recommend running strait kerosene, even with additives in it.

Why do you bother running kero with BIO? I have been running 100% for about 80k miles. A buddy of mine has been running it for over 400K miles. He pulls a trailer around the country.

Thanks

Yes, its an '01 with the VP44.
Why does that make a difference?

hiperf Can't run straight bio in -10F winters around here my friend. Normally B-60 you can get away with all Winter. BUt, not making any this Winter. Thanks.

The problem is kerosene has no lubricating properties and the VP44 is cooled and lubricated by the fuel.

Also, because most VP44's have seen LSD fuel, the seals have absorbed the sulphur. Kerosene doesn't have the same levels of sulphur and this causes the sulphur in the seals to leach back into the kerosene. This dries and cracks the seals.

Overall, kerosene is bad juju in VP trucks.
