I've been running the quad race for about 1 1/2 years now. My clutch will not handle even the 60 hp setting if I push hard in 5th and 6th gear. Maybe my stock clutch is weaker than most. I typically run in the 60hp setting. My truck is kinda unique in I get about 22mpg's back and forth work, and 24-26 on pure highway. I do notice that if I push it hard on the 100 or 130 setting that my fuel pressure will drop very quickly to almost 0, so I don't do that. I'm only running between 7-8 lbs of fuel pressure stock at idle. I don't want to starve my CP3 and ruin it. I'm planning on upgrading clutch and lift pump when funds become available. The only problem I ever had with my box was if I run the 100 hp setting and use the cruise control on the highway it will throw a p0148 code when I start up a hill. This might have been fixed in a later flash but I just haven't sent it back to have it done. Overall I'm really with power it makes. I tow a 7000 pound camper from time to time. Last time out I got 16mpg pulling it. I must say when I am on the highway I keep my speed around 60mph which about 1775 rpm's and that helps with mileage. By the way Quad's technical support is extremely good.

todd, that 148 code is some sort of fuel delivery code, you would be better off running a different pump than that stock carter crap. the CP3 wont be dammaged when the lift pump dies. but you still need to look at upgradeing it. the stock clutch can handle about 800 or so lb-ft torque.

I spoke with Quad about the 148 and they indicated it had something to do with their maps overlaping and they fixed it. I will be upgrading to FASS or Walbro and better filtration too. I'm not sure how much torque my truck makes because I've never dynoed it. But I know my clutch will spin when I push it to the floor in 5th or 6th on the 60hp setting. Even my kids say what's that? and I say just my clutch....I'd like to go Double Disk when I upgrade.

South Bend Clutch has quite possably the best you can get when it comes to these trucks, but they do come with a slight increase in price
