Question veggi oil

got a 93 d350 12v ctd, i have access to used cooking oil, they say can be run in with the fuel, i can and will filter it, question is, how much do i mix with the fiel?? ( 30gal tank), i have heard that it will cause alot of carbon build up, is this true??. also do i need some kind of filter heater? extra filter added on? any thing like that? dont want to hurt anything.
thanks mike

you can actually run it straight, only issue is, if its any bit cool out, the diesels dont like to start too weel, most that run a lot of it, run two tanks, diesel and veg oil, they start on diesel, then switch to the oil once engine temp starts to raise, then switch back to diesel before shutting the engine down, when it will have enough time to cool off, and DO filter it, mixing it will be fine, but you will know if you start to get too much, as starting may be a bit slow

2 ways to use wvo(waste veg oil) Find (pay)someone to make bio diesel for you or use 2 tank system. I would advise not to experiment using a mix or anything because it will work for awhile but will end up mucking up your injectors and ruin your engine. The key is that the strait wvo has to be heated up before it gets burned or else it leaves carbon residue on the injectors. There is alot of information on the net and good info by a company called frybrid(I think its frybrid.com). I would recoomend you fully educate youself about using wvo before you start. I hope I helped!

Thanks dodgetrucker75 been waiting your reply, do you think a fifty fifty mix would be safe as i only have one tank and really dont want another, with that mix i should not need a heater,i dont think does not get to cold for very long hear i n.m. Where i live , it gets cold but not that bad.

you might start a bit lighter than that, maby 75/25 and see how it reacts, then go from there, and add more if you desire
