My 2008 6.7CTD with a 2008 Chevy Allison Tranny, can it be done?
Ok guys and gals, I got my hands a good working Allison Tranny out of a 2008 2500 Duramax. have been assured it is in good working order. Is there anyway I can marry up my 6.7 CTD with it to have a kick *** combo?! Are there any conversion kits sold for this kind of thing or am I looking at a pipe dream? Where there is a will there is a way right!

Get a SunCoast 48RE and forget it. SunCoast is running one in their drag truck until MADS can get the programming dialed in to get the 68RFE working right. They're putting down around 885hp/1600 lb-ft.
The Allison trans in your neighbor's Chevy truck isn't any better than the 48re in your truck. It's made by GM Powertrain and labeled Allison because they own the brand. It's not the same transmission as in the tanks, it's not the same transmissions that's in the big rigs... If you drop an Allison in without building it, you're going to have issues eventually as well.
Why not drop a built Dodge trans in that won't cause you TCM/PCM incompatibility issues?
